Our Beginning
Since launching Hands of Hope Diabetes Ministry in 2018, we have applied successful strategies from our buyback program to assist over 16,800 diabetics all over Illinois in obtaining crucial medications and supplies, including insulin, meters, test strips, lancets, and infusion sites.
Our mission and vision
At Hands of Hope Diabetes Ministry our mission is to spread awareness, foster a supportive community, and ensure that diabetics have access to the supplies they need. A recent report revealed that 1 in 4 diabetics have limited their insulin intake due to cost. Tragically, in 2017, four individuals lost their lives due to insulin rationing. This number rose to four more in 2018 and five more in 2019.
Losses
While these numbers might seem small each loss is a stark reminder of the dire need for change. Every death from rationing a life-saving medication is one too many. We are committed to ending insulin rationing and empowering Type 1 Diabetics with the confidence and knowledge they need to manage their chronic illness effectively.
Step 1: Request a Kit
Give us a call to request your free mail kit. Just provide your name, address, and contact information. You'll receive your kit within 2 to 8 business days.
Your Kit Includes:
- A copy of our Terms & Conditions
- Additional packaging instructions
- A prepaid shipping label and Priority Mail Box
Step 2: Send Your Items
- Place the items you are selling in the prepaid box.
- Cushion the interior with newspaper or tissue paper to protect the contents during shipping.
- The prepaid return label is already on the box, with a tracking number you can use on USPS.com.
- We take photos of every box we receive during the inspection process and encourage you to do the same.
Step 3: Get Cash
We offer same-day payment processing. Once we verify the brand and condition of your supplies, we send your payment.
Payment Options:
- Choose Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or a paper check.
- For security, CGM device payments are sent via check, arriving within 8 business days.

After verification, we will schedule a pickup at your location and a driver will pay you cash and collect your supplies

Send us pictures of your supplies to verify they meet our criteria, including being unopened, unsealed, not expired, and not labeled 'Medicare/Medicaid Use Only'.
